“Asian Health Services is a Federally Qualified Health Center located in the Bay Area of California. Our organization’s approach is to emphasize overall well-being for all of our patients so we have Primary Care, Dental Care, and Mental Health. We advocate and serve a population which includes over 28,000 patients and we serve over 14 different Asian languages.
“In our organization we have six different sites. We have three different dental clinics as well as three mobile school-based dental clinics. So in our organization to keep everyone doing the same thing, making sure our charts, our workflows, everything is consistent with Dentrix Enterprise, from scheduling an appointment, or anywhere the patient moves, from the front to the back office, and then back to the front, our organization is able to keep our work flows consistent. Dentrix Enterprise allows us to really centralize all these processes.
“I stepped into our organization over a year-and-a-half ago. That was my first time using Dentrix Enterprise. Prior to that I was using Easy Dental. Dentrix Enterprise has been amazing, with the different things that you can customize within the software, being able to control and streamline processes. We have a number of different clinics so it's important that all organizations are doing the same thing and Enterprise really allows us to do that.
“We customize basically everything from the appointment setups, different procedures, clinical notes, and treatment plans. We're able to do so with the way the technology is set up for us.
“Dentrix Enterprise has allowed us to recently integrate through HL7 interface software and that's been huge for us. Like I mentioned earlier we really emphasized overall well-being, and the ability to connect with our medical providers EHR system has been huge. We're able to access all the information that is used on the medical side and we’re able to integrate that with our patient’s dental care.
“We have centralized billing and for the integration it was critical that all of our patient record information is the same across all of our sites. Even though we're using different software in dental, it's important for our clinicians to provide the best patient care and using Dentrix Enterprise was something our organization really felt strongly about. So, when our organization, a few months ago, decided that we would implement an EHR software it was important that an interface was built to keep patient records consistent from demographic information, to what was actually done on those dates of service, so that our billing can handle and actually processes those claims.
“Our staff is always using the more information window within Enterprise. We're also using the Treatment Planner, the Chart - basically anything that's available in Dentrix Enterprise - we’re really making use of it. We use ePrescribe and that has been working for our organization as well. 4:08 - 4:26: Our providers are able to log into the module. They're able to send prescriptions directly to pharmacies. It's something they do on a daily basis. Before the patient even leaves the practice, we’re able to say we sent your prescription to this Pharmacy, and it's been done right away. It saves time because the patient knows what to expect, they can say I want this Pharmacy and then the doctor can answer any questions about the prescription right then and there. And then the pharmacy is able to have it so the patient can just go to the pharmacy right after and it can be ready in a very short amount of time.
“We've really appreciated the different support that we received from Henry Schein. That's one of the things I love most about Enterprise, is the access to resources and customer support. It’s been phenomenal. We are able to ask any question, provide any feedback, and there is always someone in support, whether it's the click to chat feature, or a phone call, or even an email, we have this wealth of resources at our hands with quick timely responses. So, that if there is workflow Improvement, software troubleshooting, we’re able to manage those things and the support has been really great from Henry Schein.
“If you are a multi-site practice looking to streamline and centralize a lot of your clinic processes, I'd say Enterprise is definitely the way to go.”
