Microsoft has recently released the Windows 10 operating system and its programming infrastructure, .NET 4.6.
As a Dentrix Enterprise customer, you need to understand when and how Dentrix Enterprise will support Windows 10 or .NET 4.6 to ensure that Dentrix Enterprise and your other software solutions still function correctly. Before installing the Microsoft products, we recommend you first do a full assessment of your practice software and technology to ensure they are fully compatible. As always, running the latest version of Dentrix Enterprise can help you be prepared for any changes in the software industry.
Any version of Dentrix Enterprise from 8.0 to 8.0.5 is not supported on Windows 10. We recommend that you do not install Windows 10 or .NET 4.6 until Dentrix Enterprise 8.0.7 is released in Q1 2016. If you choose to install Windows 10 or .NET 4.6, you must first install an additional Dentrix Enterprise file on each computer. Please contact support with any questions or to request this additional file at 800.459.8067.
Because Dentrix Enterprise versions older than 8.0 will not work correctly on Windows 10 or .NET 4.6, we strongly encourage you not to install either Microsoft solution until you upgrade to a newer version of Dentrix Enterprise and install the additional file. Installing Windows 10 or .NET 4.6 without upgrading Dentrix Enterprise will result in complications.
Dentrix Enterprise customers using DEXIS software should not install Windows 10 or .NET 4.6 at this time. DEXIS is currently testing several versions of their software and will have more information soon.
All other Dentrix Enterprise eServices have been tested on Windows 10 and .NET 4.6 and function correctly, including eClaims and QuickBill.
Currently in development, Dentrix Enterprise 8.0.7 will be released in Q1 2016. It will be fully functional on Windows 10 or .NET 4.6.
