Q. Why would Dentrix focus its attention only on practice management software?
A. This agreement combines the strength of two market leaders which are exclusively distributed through Sullivan-Schein Dental. As a result, Dentrix Dental Systems will reposition its development team to focus on practice management solutions and Sullivan-Schein can focus its field sales consultants on better servicing their customers. In effect, the agreement provides an opportunity for Sullivan-Schein and Dentrix Dental Systems to re-align their organizations to the benefit of their customers.


Q. Does this agreement mean Dentrix will discontinue support and future development of its integrated imaging suite?
A. No. With this agreement DEXIS will provide support of the imaging software suite and will continue to develop new upgrades for our customers. Integration of digital imaging solutions with the DENTRIX clinical and practice management system will continue to be expanded to the benefit of our customers.


Q. Who do I call for customer service and technical assistance?
A. You can call 1-800-459-8067 for customer service or technical assistance, just as you have done in the past.


Q. Will the warranty on my Dentrix digital imaging products change?
A. No. This agreement does not affect warranties. Simply call 1-800-459-8067 should you need assistance.


Q. What is the future of the DENTRIX practice management system?
A. The future is bright and exciting. This agreement provides Dentrix Dental Systems with a wonderful opportunity to reposition its development team to focus on the integration of products and services at a whole new level. When we're ready to show you this new concept, called practice automation, we think you'll be very impressed.


Q. What is the long-term plan for the Dentrix ImageRAYi, ImageCAM HD, and DENTRIX Image software?
A. These excellent products will be supported and serviced by DEXIS. Eventually, new sensors, cameras, and imaging software will be developed and brought to market by DEXIS to replace the Dentrix products. Thus, any doctor who has purchased Dentrix digital imaging products can be assured they will recoup their investment and more with no worry of support or service.


Q. Will I be able to use a DEXIS sensor with DENTRIX Image?
A. This agreement obviously paves the way for a Dentrix customer to use a DEXIS sensor with DENTRIX Image. A few minor modifications need to be made with the DENTRIX Image software before this can happen. Details to follow.
